Meet Russell
Russell Collins didn’t start his career in accounting — but he found his calling there. After serving the community in law enforcement, Russell shifted his focus to business. Inspired by his father’s belief that accounting is the lifeblood of any successful company, Russell enrolled in his first accounting class at BYU, and he was hooked.
While pursuing his Master of Accounting at the University of Utah, Russell gained his first hands-on experience worked as an accounting clerk. Upon graduation, he was honored to join Ernst & Young, one of the Big Four and most prestigious accounting firms in the world, where he honed his skills in public accounting and auditing.
Since then, Russell has worked with a range of businesses — from local startups to a $69 million multinational software company — serving as a trusted financial executive and advisor. Though he enjoys the technical side of accounting and diving deep into Excel spreadsheets, his true passion lies in helping business owners make smart, data-driven decisions.
Russell founded Russell Financial Strategies & Consulting to offer both project-based consulting and full-service monthly accounting support, empowering small businesses to take control of their finances and grow with confidence.
